Felting is a technique that has been used in Bulgaria for centuries. It is a lot of closely packed wool fibers that form a certain shape and density. Basically felted wool was used to make clothes, carpets, blankets and even beds. The method of creating these items has been known and perfected for at least 8,000 years, according to some modern masters of this craft. They are made kneeling on the floor without the use of any special loom.

In this workshop you will touch a small part of this beautiful and ancient process. We will study a technique called "needling". Needle punching is used to create very precise and well measured ornaments on the felt product. A special needle is used, with the help of which the wool fibers are stapled. This allows the creation of a designer small object - a brooch, a pendant, a key holder, a cup holder, etc., which will be the products made by the workshop participants.
